Research and Development at MREL

Ezcore 55G Tactical DisrupterResearch and Development (R&D) can be defined as “creative work, undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society”.

MREL prides itself in discovering new knowledge and applying that knowledge to create new and improved products, processes and services that fill market needs.

MREL’s Defence and Security Products Department focuses its R&D efforts on the disruption and neutralization of UXO and IEDs. The outcome of our R&D program is to provide our niche community tools that will allow for faster and safer render safe procedures.

Extensive research and instrumented testing has been conducted to fully characterize each of MREL’s Tactical Disrupters, determining the capabilities and limitations of each in detail. The criteria of design and successful live testing for all of MREL’s Tactical Disrupters are:

  • Defeat the Circuitry
  • Expel the contents of the device
  • Minimize collateral damage
  • Minimize the debris field

MREL has not only focused on understanding the effects on target of each disrupter, but also the ability to deploy that countermeasure safely and effectively downrange and position the disrupter at the determined attack height and angle. MREL has tested and created a full range of accessories that minimize the number of tools required to perform the maximum number of tasks faster, safer and with less expense.
